Haven’t picked up my knitting needles in three y Haven’t picked up my knitting needles in three years! But I can’t seem to find anything to write about lately, so while I’m riding out the writer’s block I decided to dig out my yarn. First time I’ve ever made a pom pom for the top. This is, I think, my 37th hat. I’ve been procrastinating trying a sweater but now that I’m officially sick of making hats I’m going to give it a try.
Teaching students about the power of networking. I Teaching students about the power of networking. I created a “Find Someone Who...” bingo game. We played for Haribo Tropifruits. We had a lot of laughs and a really good discussion. One student said she has sat in the class all year without realizing how little she knew about some of her classmates. Another was called out to prove he could rap (one of the boxes) while another laid down a beat (I told him not to quit his day job just yet 🤣). But the girl who won realized she could ask me questions too...

It’s the so-called “little” things that are a far cry from little that keep me buoyed in times like these. Thankful for living things and good friends. 💗

What a difference a day makes! I stepped outside o What a difference a day makes! I stepped outside on this sunny and very warm afternoon, inhaled, and just like that! Noticed our winter jasmine has burst forth on the scene. After orange blossoms, this has to be my favorite scent.
Almost one year ago, when lockdown first started, Almost one year ago, when lockdown first started, I planted a bunch of seeds: orange, lemon, and grapefruit. We now have several fledgling trees growing in pots all around our property. This one little guy was still pretty small when the weather turned colder back in November, so we brought him inside. I guess the solarium did him good because he started to grow faster, and of all things, developed a bud, which just today opened in a full-on very fragrant blossom. I think he’s an orange tree in the making. Like some of our other houseplants, he’s getting a few hours of outside time today to soak up some direct rays. I hope he keeps on keepin’ on. He’s kind of impressive in his “Little Engine That Could” attitude. 💪👏 🍊

Remember those teeny kittens we rescued a couple m Remember those teeny kittens we rescued a couple months ago from the feral colony by the Cabo de la Nau lighthouse? They were severely malnourished and dehydrated and very sickly. Tom and i were in way over our heads so our good friends, Sarah and Julian, who have rehabbed and re-homes dozens of abandoned and feral kittens jumped in. They took them home, gave them round the clock care, including tube-feeds, subcutaneous fluid injections and countless vet visits. They also exposed them to their own adult cats and large, boisterous and friendly dog. Before long the two got bigger and stronger and better socialized. They are now healthy, loving, playful little dudes. And the best news? They are going today to their furever home where they get to stay together with a lovely family. Here’s a current photo and video. Good things still do happen. ❤️
